Description
Tharaba Gate, the eastern entrance to the old city of Bagan, Myanmar. This and the small section of brick wall on either side are all that remain of the ninth-century rampart. The niches either side of the gate house Bagan's guardian nats "Mister Handsome" and his sister "Golden Face", known collectively known as the Lords of the High Mountain.

Great image, and agree about the sense of age feeling.
Werner Padarin replied:
Thank you, Julia, I would have preferred the motorbike to have passed out of view so as not to spoil the "old" look, but then the cart would have disappeared also ...
William Tasker
Wonderful! You can just feel the age and years... L/F
Werner Padarin replied:
Thank you William, the horse cart driving by at this time was just great for atmosphere!
