Description
Spotted Owlet (Athene brama) in a hollow tree trunk in Rajasthan, India. Studies have shown that an owl can go to sleep with one half of its brain while the other side is awake, so an owl can literally sleep with one eye open, as the owlets in this image seem to be doing (ref: www.raptorshelter.org/our-owls/)
