Description
A wild koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) perched on a manna gum (Eucalyptus viminalis) branch at Cape Otway, Australia. Koalas in this region were originally translocated, probably from French Island in Westernport Bay. Over the years they have multiplied beyond sustainable number to the extent of killing the trees which are their food source with many then succumbing to starvation.
